Item of interest chapter 8:Teachers Helping Parents
As educators, we can help parents; they look up for advice on whether their child is ready for technology. A child's education can be greatly enhanced by their parents' involvement in the classroom and at home. We can communicate with parents about their child's progress. We’ll find great advice on how parents can support their child's development. Tapping in to the support of parents will enable you to teach more effectively. A good idea is parent-teacher conferences, at an open house, and throughout the school year. When you and parents make things together can help children gain confidence in their technology skills, also talking and listening are a very important part of the learning process; Understanding the right way to teach technology is only a small piece of the puzzle.

Teachers, I feel are like the child's second set of parents. They are with teachers 6 to 7 hours a day, Monday through Friday. It is our duty as future teachers to be the eyes and ears for the parents. The more involved we are, the more the child will succeed. Great choice for an IOI!
